Items To Include When Settling In A Home Bunker

Keeping your family safe during tornadoes and other dangers is a significant affair. That is where the survival bunker comes into being. But when you consider the home bunker design for emergency purposes, it’s also important to understand the types of items you would require. Here go the important items to include:

Home Bunker

Water -

Water is pretty much essential for survival, besides food. An individual may last three days without water & three weeks without food. So, stocking the bunker with water is important. How long you will be stuck underground inside the bunker is debatable. So, it’s always imperative to opt for bottles and jugs of water.

Air Ventilation -

Who would survive without oxygen? Probably no one! So, the second most important thing to consider is installing an air ventilation system. You’d require a system that can last for more than one month. Choose the ventilation system that can withstand a bomb or storm.

Food -

Perishable goods do not have a place in the survival bunker. Rather, you can stock the shelves with canned foods such as fresh and dry fruits & vegetables. Include some snacks like peanut butter, canned tuna, and crackers!

A First Aid Kit -

Even when you’re inside the bunker, accidents may occur. So, it’s best that you are prepared for such emergencies. This is where including a first aid kit comes as a savior decision. Include pain killers, antiseptics, antibiotics, and bandages. Ensure that you monitor the stash & switch out anything that’s nearing the expiration date!

Some Warm Clothes -

It would be so warm underground. You would require stocking some additional clothes to survive during the colder nights. Pack in some war clothes that can keep you at a normal temperature. Consider merino woolen clothes, jackets, thick socks, and woolen shoes.

Other essentials that you need are:

  •       Batteries
  •       Tools
  •      Your Documents

Ensure that you collect these important essentials before you bid a temporary farewell to your home and enter your home bunker. With these essentials, there’s no denying the fact that your experience will be smooth and safe.
